Smart Cooking - The Chicago Cutlery Insignia2 26 Piece Knife Block Set
I recently bought the Insignia 2 26 Piece Knife Block Cutlery Set by Chicago and I am completely happy with my purchase. All of the knives are very good quality and never go blunt. Some knife sets can be very expensive, but these were excellent value and it is nice to have some good knives in the kitchen.
The set consists of 2 pairing knives, the boning knife, the 5.5-inch utility knife, the Santoku and Partoku, the 8-inch slicer, and a Chefs Knife as well as a cheese set and a chopping board. It was excellent value. Also in the 26-piece set you get a set of steak knives (I know, this sounds like an infomercial - ha-ha!) But seriously having nice steak knives when the relatives or friends come over for Thanksgiving is really nice. The only problem is that the steak knives don't have serrated edges - I always thought this was normal.
Honestly, Chicago knives are a dream to use - I use mine every night. From slicing vegetables to cutting up just about anything, it is a lot easier for me now that I have these knives. I can honestly recommend the Chicago Insignia2 26 piece Cutlery Knife Block Set if you want a good knife set without paying a fortune.
Some of the other Knife sets on the market cost around $600 and up! Personally I think Chicago knives are all that you need, especially if you are only using them to cook at home. They all have nice well- balanced handles and are made with high-grade carbon steel. Each knife is made so that the steel used to make the knife runs from the end of the handle right through to make the blade. They are all rust resistant and its says that they are dishwasher safe but a friend told me that you should always wash and dry good quality knives by hand.
