How do i make a throwing knife?

I am trying to learn how to create a throwing knife.

Now here is what i have to create one.

Ok, so im not sure how to create it though.

I need the following awnsered:

What kind of steel do i buy?
How long will it take?
What do i need to put on my training saw, and how much?
Do i need a bench?
What supplys do i need?
Is it easy or hard, 1/10?
etc.

It doesn't have to be great steel, I've made throwing stars out of large square metal washers.

You can buy a length of steel at the hardware store, maybe 3 feet long and 2 inches wide. Cut it into 8-10 inch lengths, and shape it on a bench grinder.. Throwing knives don't have to be sharp like regular knives.
